MyGovernance supporting Myanmar at COP25 in Spain

The European Union is supporting Myanmar’s participation in the landmark UN Climate Change Conference COP 25, which is taking place on 2-13 December 2019 in Madrid, Spain. The conference’s key objective is to put the Paris Climate Change Agreement fully into operation from 2020. Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MoALI) and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (MoSWRR) have joined the Myanmar government’s delegation with support from MyGovernance: Daw Thu Zar Myint (Director, MoALI) and Daw Phyu Phyu Win (Director, MoSWRR) are participating on the conference deliberations and are specifically involved in the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA), which recognises the fundamental importance of agriculture in responding to climate change, as well as in discussions on loss and damage, which concern unavoidable and irreversible impacts of climate change, where adaptation is not possible.
